e.TV Ghana Fashion Awards Launched For 2016
News According to primenewsghana.com: Studio 7 Beauty Lounge on the Spintex Road served as the venue for the launch of the 2016 e.TV Ghana Fashion Awards in Accra today.
Head of Brands Communication and Marketing at Global Media Alliance, Kwame Gyan noted e.TV is delighted to roll out the second edition of the awards show “because last year’s show was good,” adding his outfit is committed to the project “to essentially help build the fashion brand in Ghana which celebrates photographers, fashion designers, accessory makers, stylists, models and the rest.”
The awards has 8 categories with some 71 nominations received so far.
Participants will be gunning for awards including Best Designer, Male Model of the Year, Accessory Designer and Fashion Photographer.
The 2016 e.TV Ghana Fashion Awards will be held at on November 19 at the Mercedes Benz Showroom at the Silver Star Tower, Airport City.
Daniel De-Long, Project Manager for the awards, noted the night will have 3 lead designers with one exhibiting wares from his abstract collection adding models will paraded in “mad clothes” in a stunning show.
For one of the male models billed to perform on the night, Setor, the night holds a lot of promise: “Folks should not expect jus walks but best looks as well,” he assured.
Mr. Kwame Gyan, answering a question as to why e.TV Ghana is committed to the awards, explained “we want to have a foot in the fashion space. Fashion is big in this country now. I know folks who have left their bank jobs to do fashion and some are in fashion management as well.”
He added the sector offered numerous employment possibilities to the youth as well.
The awards committee is still welcoming and receiving nominations after which judges will scrutinize the list. The judges to deliberate and decide on who wins what category, the organizers mentioned were persons who had interest and expertise in the field.
According to the Head of Brands Communications and Marketing at Global Media Alliance Broadcast Company, 4 judges have been tasked to vet the nominees adding that the awards scheme was not open to public votes. He intimated at the Studio 7 Beauty Lounge that the night will not just be about fashion but also music and comedy.
Mr. De-Long mentioned that just as Kofi Ansah was given the Hall of Fame award last year, another icon in the field will be celebrated with an award this year.

www.etvghana.com site and access the 2016 e.TV Ghana Fashion Awards page and fill an online form regarding which category/categories one reckons he/she has a portfolio in and then submit for evaluation by the judges.
It is open to Ghanaians globally who are on the land, continent or in the diaspora.
